How the idea came?

I´m Asnate from Riga, Latvia, but now I live in Azores, São Miguel Island. Nice. After my travel to Rome, Italy where I stayed in B&B, the concept and place inspired me that I had the idea to open my own Lapsa House in Ponta Delgada, Azores.

I`m in some ways a dreamer but also a hard worker and creative person and then the dreams come true.

Thank you so much to all Lapsa House guests for nice words in reviews, comments, emails and handwriting letters! Its my pleasure to read them!

This experience came as close to my idea of a perfect b&b of any place I have stayed. Asnate is incredibly personable and helpful without being intrusive, the b&b itself is clean, simple, and beautifully decorated, and it smells lovely! You have a great deal of autonomy and you can sleep in because she leaves breakfast on the table for you to eat at your leisure. The location is great- truly centrally located. If you are looking for a big hotel experience, this is not for you, but for those interested in self sufficiency without having to slum it (far from it!), I would without question recommend a stay here anytime. I hope I can return sometime!

I travel a lot and am pretty picky, was here for three nights with my son and my sister and her daughter-this place was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect and right across the street from our favorite place to eat, the rooms were really nice with high ceilings and the most wonderful morning light came in each day. The cheese, jams and local bread were a real tasty treat in the morning. Asnate was great and so flexible and friendly, very helpful too!!! When we come back, wewill stay here, it was also an amazing deal!!!!

We stayed in the B&B by Lapsa for one week in July 2013. And we will definately come back again! 
Asnate, the owner, is very friendly and helpful! She makes everything possible and takes care of everything!
The B&B is very nice and clean, there are only 3 rooms with big windows and a shared bathroom, a big breakfast room and a kitchen. It's right in the center of Ponta Delgada, within walking distance to all the good restaurants! Asnate recommended very good restaurants to us and made our stay in São Miguel very special!
We can highly recommend this B&B!!!

We've stayed at B&B by Lapsa for 4 nights during May 2013. Everything was perfect. The b&b has 3 separate rooms, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. It's located in the center of Ponta Delgada so you can reach everything you need. 
The owner of the B&B - Asnate - is very helpful, will provide you everything you need. The breakfast was very good. It is also an excellent way how to make new friends - the guests there are changing all the time.
Would definitely recommend stay at B&B by Lapsa. We'll stay there again next time.

The very friendly host Asnate has just set up the place is it has already the atmosphere of a perfect place. With its 3 rooms you will get familiar with your co-guests sharing this 2 story flat in this old palace like building in the cities' Old Center with its beautiful high rooms and windows. 
Every room has been purely and lovely designed. Breakfast is prepared and you make automatically feel yourself a at home. Pick-up and dropoff to airport is provided at fair costs.

Staying at Asnate‘s BnB has been the perfect end to our trip to the Azores. Asnate has done a wonderful job in renovating the building with great sense for style and lots of details. She gave us great recommendations for food and we only wish to have stayed a little longer. I can highly recommend Asnate‘s BnB!

B&B Lapasa is a well prepared apartment !! the place is really clean ,and you can small the fresh from the wood furniture, can tell the decorations are simple but creativity ! 
just in the city center, and there is a famous bar just 200 m away,
i live in the mansard room, is quite special experience, the space is so big,
and you will wake up because of a great sunshine just come into your room every morning!
then, Asnate will prepared home-made breakfast to start your day!
she is a lovely girl who tracing her dream goal really hard! i am very impressive ! we had a great time there, she will give you the best spot in the island and make a wonderful plan for you if you need! 
you wont regret !!! I promise :)

The B&B by Lapsa was a very nice surprise in a wonderful short trip to Azores. We'll be back, definitely! 
We stayed in the incredibly spacious, cozy and confortable mansard room. The apartment (3 bedrooms, including the mansard) is truly charming and has lovely high ceilings. The atmosphere is culturally vibrant and Asnate a dedicated host. Location is extremely central - walking distance to everywhere in downtown Ponta Delgada.
We loved the long breakfasts preparing our daily excursions on the rented scooter and we were always eager for the next breakfast and its cookies and creamy cheese. The restaurant "Rotas" located across the street is something that you shouldn't miss!

Perfectly located, in the center of Ponta Delgada. Spacious rooms (only 3 so it won't get crowded) and you can feel at home. Very nice host. The vegetarian restaurant on the other side of the road is preety good too!

Huge thanks to Asnate for everything! She is one of the best hosts that I have ever encountered. Tell you why. Me and partner stayed at her apartment in Jan/Feb 2013 for two weeks during a conference that we were attending. The reason I chose B&B by Lapsa was simple - I like meeting people and adventure - so after some research her spot seemed to be just perfect. When we arrived, Asnate welcomed us, showed us around, explained everything, answered all my questions and gave some useful advice on what/where/when to see/go. The apartment is clean, spacious, light and colourful - it turns out that Asnate did everything herself with little help from a carpenter. Location is awesome too -right in downtown! It was a nice surprise to have freshly baked bread for breakfast!
In conclusion I just want to say that if I have a chance to visit the Azores again - I surely will stay at Asnate's!

Excellent place where to stay in Ponta Delgada. Very central, right by Portas da Cidade. Stayed for one night, on my way back to Horta. Very relaxing and artistic ambiance. Very welcoming host, makes you feel at home. Thank you Asnate :) Highly recommend the experience!

Just recently passed in Ponta Delgada for a quick journey before going to USA and stayed in the Mansard room in the house. Very coll place to stay, looks beeter as in pic, plus pet friendly, considering that I had to carry the cat in order to move to USA. Asnate is a very welcoming person! Good breakfast, free wifi, central, good infomational tips. Highly recommended!

Low budget accommodation located on the city center. High points are location and hospitality. Very well located in walking distance to main centers and night life.
Decoration and facilities are very good and it does include a home made breakfast with freshly squeezed fruits juice.

I spend a great week at BB by Lapsa. Nice house at Ponta Delgada downtown near everything you can ask. I felt like home! The owner is a nice girl, very helpful;).
It's a great option to stay for a short or long visit to S. Miguel, one of the Portugal's jewels!

I stayed in B&B by Lapsa a couple of times because of the trips between Horta and mainland. I love the interior and where the B&B is situated. It is really in the center, close to everything as much You can say everything about center of Ponta Delgada. And Asnate is such a nice and friendly person who makes perfect breakfast. If You can manage to ask her to make the potetos salats (rosols) - You will be in the sevents sky. And i love the aura of the old house!Room Tip: I stayed in corner room. It is a great feeling to wake up when the sun is shining trough the big win...

Located in a lovely old house directly in the city center of Ponta Delgada, decorated with a lot of sense for style and with all the convenience you could ask for (like a fully equipped kitchen, fast internet connection etc.) Asnate's little B&B is the perfect location to explore beautiful Sao Miguel. A great breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and varying local products like cheese, typical jam or even homemade bread was prepared for us ever day and Asnate and her friends also helped us with advice for the best places to visit. I can highly recommend this B&B if you are looking for a nice and welcoming place to stay on a budget.
